Who ever said that BIM isn’t being used by contractors isn’t seeing the larger picture. Meet Laura Handler, the Building Information Modeler and her very well crafted blog: bimx.blogspot.com

The barriers to making the paradigm shift a reality relies more on people than technology. A tool that sits in the toolbox unused, is not worth very much until someone with the right skill, desire and intent picks it up to use it. The more architects, designers, and engineers communicate with the owner, construction manager, and construction team players – the easier it will be to realize the true potential of a BIM workflow as supporting the greater building lifecycle. All parties involved in this process should and must realize that although each may have a different goal, the product of a successful building requires each to work as a part of a single unified team.
