Just discovered Revit 24/7, where Cesar Rullier this week posted a great tip on stair riser and tread settings. Nice use of a highlighter!

Additionally, for those that where local building codes require a formula to determine your stairs riser and tread sizing, you can use the Calculation Rules option. Click the Stairs tool on the Modelling (sic) Design Bar and then the Stairs Properties button (on the Sketch Bar). Click Edit/New, and then follow the remaining steps outlined in the images that follow, applying the rules based on the jurisdiction for your project. One thing to note: Before using the calculator for this rule of thumb sizing, be sure set values for the minimum tread depth and maximum riser height. You’ll notice that once you activate the rule calculator, the values from the type properties form are used.
